My Reaction to Finding Out I'm Pregnant
Today is Friday, September 22, 2017. Over the past couple hours I have taken 4 pregnancy tests. They're all positive! I have felt an unsettling amount of emotions since finding out. Like... Elated. Nervous. Surprised. Amazed. Astonished. Shocked. Excited.
Jason was on the phone with me when I took the first couple tests, and I wasn't going to tell him. Then, they were positive. I froze for minute, and then blurted out what had happened. My eyes have played tricks on me so many times the past 7 months. I basically didn't believe it until Jason told me he saw the second line, too. This was definitely not how I had imaged telling Jason... I always thought I would hang up baby clothes in our house, and that's how he would know. I just physically could not keep that secret from him for 4 or 5 more hours.
I decided to hang up some baby clothes anyway. So I went to Meijer, and found two cute football onesies that said "Daddy" on them. If you don't already know, Jason is a huge football fanatic. So, even if it's a boy or a girl, the baby will definitely be wearing those when we root on our Detroit Lions.
After I got home and hung up the clothes I decided to download some apps. Some of the apps I was using to track my cycle have pregnancy ones. So I downloaded those and a few others. One of them told me that at 3 weeks pregnant my baby is the size of a chia seed. It's amazing that something so small right now becomes a human being. I'm still kind of in shock knowing that my body is making another body... Ahhh!!!
It's a little unsettling knowing I'm getting so excited about this, and I could lose the baby. But! I've decided to look on the bright side, and enjoy every moment I have with our first child. There are so many things that could go wrong, but so many more that could go right. This is going to be one crazy adventure. I'm already looking forward to what's going to happen. Although, I know that means I'm going to be peeing a lot, uncomfortable, nauseous/puking, and pushing a watermelon out of a quarter-sized hole. I'm so pumped! I cannot wait to meet our little chia seed!
Since I documented my whole pregnancy on my blog, I figured it only made sense to write about Will's birth. I don't plan on getting too graphic with the details, but there will probably be some TMI-type information related to childbirth included in this post. So, if you're not into that, you might want to skip this one. Now let's get to the story (it's kind of a long one).
