Week 13 Bumpdate
Thankfully the symptoms have lessened as I finished up the first trimester. Only downside is it makes for a very short bumpdate...
When is week 13?
Friday, November 24, 2017 - Thursday, November 30, 2017
What’s the size of the baby?
Our baby is now the size of a lemon, and is around 2.91 inches and 0.81 ounces.
Waist size?
I forgot to measure my waist this week....
Symptoms?
Body: My skin has gotten so dry and itchy now. It's pretty annoying, and I feel like it's only going to get worse the bigger I get... ggggrrrrreeeeeaaaaat!
Also, another strange thing that has started happening that I hear could be caused by pregnancy is my gums and teeth have gotten more sensitive. I have to be careful when eating and drinking hot or cold things, and my gums now have the tendency to bleed if I'm not extra careful while brushing my teeth.
Finally, my legs and hips ache a lot more than normal. If you know me pretty well, then you know that I've had issues with pain in my right hip for years. It gets worse in the colder seasons, too. I've noticed that I'm starting to get that hip pain again (no real surprise there...), but it's also accompanied by a dull ache in my left hip and a restless leg feeling in my calfs and feet. I'm going to try drinking more water, and hopefully that helps with the new aches and pains.
Sleep: I'm still not sleeping great, but I'm at least not as exhausted as I was before. Most nights I wake up once or twice for a 30-60 minute period. I think I get woken up because my legs and hips are aching, but I'm not entirely sure... I'm really hoping to get the second trimester energy burst ASAP.
Cravings & Aversions: Still craving pizza and mac and cheese. This baby definitely has Jason's genes with his or her constant need for cheese.
Nausea: Luckily, this isn't an issue anymore!
Movements: Too early for this one.
Dreams: No crazy dreams that I can remember this week.
Stretch Marks: Still early for this one, too.
Gender?
Still no word on exactly when we will find out the gender, but we find out at my 14-week appointment on Friday, December 1. Take the poll below. I'd love to know what everyone thinks baby Fiser will be :)

Must have items?
Honestly, there hasn't been anything special this week that I've needed or has been extra helpful. Things have started to level out as I finish up the first trimester, so I haven't really needed those "life saver" products. Maybe I'll have something for next week.
What do you miss?
Honestly, I miss sleeping through the night. It is so miserable to be tossing-and-turning for long periods of time every night. I guess I'm just getting practice for when the little peanut gets here in June...
What are you looking forward to?
I'm so excited to find out when my anatomy scan will be! I'm really excited to have a gender reveal party for close family.
Best part of this week?
It has been so nice knowing all of our family and friends knows about baby now, and I've started to tell more people at work. It's a little more relaxing not keeping it a secret, and being able to talk about the baby with anyone.
Challenges this week?
I feel like I sound like a broken record, but it's definitely been getting enough sleep...
Hubby’s thoughts?
He loves talking about the baby, and he says my belly is getting more noticeable. It's really cute how excited he is be a dad :)
Since I documented my whole pregnancy on my blog, I figured it only made sense to write about Will's birth. I don't plan on getting too graphic with the details, but there will probably be some TMI-type information related to childbirth included in this post. So, if you're not into that, you might want to skip this one. Now let's get to the story (it's kind of a long one).
