Weeks 31-35 Bumpdate
This past month has been the toughest one so far, and I have officially reached the "over it" phase of pregnancy.
When are weeks 31-35?
Friday, March 30, 2018 - Thursday, May 3, 2018
What’s the size of the baby?
According to the Bump app, by week 35 the little man is the size of a pineapple. He's measuring 17.2-18.7 inches and is now 4.2 to 5.8 pounds.
Waist size?
At the end of week 35, I was measuring 37 inches around, which is 2.5 inches bigger around than I was measuring at week 30. I also had a doctor's appointment and found out I have gained 30 pounds so far.
Symptoms?
Body: I finally reached the point in my pregnancy where I don't know how I can do it any longer. I've been having more regular Braxton-Hicks contractions, and I retain a ton of water if I'm on my feet a lot. Plus, my hip pain is getting worse and I've been getting all-over body aches at night. It makes it very difficult to get comfortable, and I can't be in the same position for more than 30 minutes after I get home from work. These next few weeks are going to be very difficult...
Sleep: My hip pain has reached the point of unbearable, and it makes it almost impossible to sleep. I'm constantly moving around throughout the night, I'm not getting long stretches of sleep at one time.
Cravings & Aversions: Not much....
Nausea: I've definitely had to change my nighttime eating habits, because of the nausea and indigestion. TUMS are becoming my new best friend.
Movements: He definitely loves to move, and he's getting big enough that his little wiggles can be painful (especially his elbows and knees). My favorite is when he gets the hiccups though. They're a much lighter feeling, and only last a few minutes. I can't wait to see him get the hiccups... it's going to be so cute!
Dreams: I have noticed I have a lot more vivid dreams now, and they're normally pretty scary, too. One upside to only sleeping in one- or two-hour stretches is that these dreams don't last long.
Stretch Marks: None yet!
Gender?
It's a boy! Read more about our gender reveal here.
Must have items?
First is TUMS for indigestion. Second is comfortable clothes and shoes. I've reached the point in my pregnancy that more and more of my clothes don't fit with each passing day. So finding clothes that don't constrict me is paramount.
What do you miss?
Being comfortable at night.... I can't seem to find a position most nights that is comfortable for more than 20-30 minutes. It makes the nights very long, and getting sleep extremely difficult.
What are you looking forward to?
Meeting our little man. I cannot believe that were only 5 weeks away from his expected arrival!
Best part of these weeks?
Having another ultrasound at 31 weeks to learn that our little guy is now in the 25th percentile for overall size, and appears to be happy and healthy.
Also, celebrating our little man at the baby shower my family hosted. See the photos of it here.
Challenges these weeks?
I feel like a broken record of complaints, but my biggest challenge is being comfortable. I miss the days I could watch a movie, and not be so miserable that I have to get up and walk around every 30 minutes.
Hubby’s thoughts?
Jason so ready for the little man to get here. He's still in daddy nesting mode and is working on getting his workshop organized. In the end, he's impatiently waiting the big day and wants it to happen sooner than later.
Since I documented my whole pregnancy on my blog, I figured it only made sense to write about Will's birth. I don't plan on getting too graphic with the details, but there will probably be some TMI-type information related to childbirth included in this post. So, if you're not into that, you might want to skip this one. Now let's get to the story (it's kind of a long one).
